Doc Sheldon’s life has been a series of “elevens”. He served eleven years in the US Navy, before getting out to try civilian life. He’s lived in eleven different countries, and eleven different states in the US, and enjoys immersing himself in the local culture, to learn the customs, language and folklore. His self-imposed rule has always been to give a little more than he receives... which isn’t always easy, as he’s gotten so much out of his experiences.

He retired from his business management consulting business in 2008, where he provided business management services to many large companies, including Fiskars Brands, Anchor Hocking, Dynamic Cooking Systems and McDonnell-Douglas. He has also provided consulting services to several large clients, specializing in cross-border operations in Latin America.

Doc started seeking SEO knowledge in 2003, by hanging around various SEO and webmaster forums and reading the blogs of many great SEOs. In 2006, he began studying it in earnest, as he saw an exciting potential for those that could figure out what the search engines would do next, and were willing to “color between the lines”. He then decided to put his more than thirty years of off-line copywriting experience to good use as an SEO copywriter.

In late 2011, Doc welcomed Lisa Pratto as a partner to his content strategy agency. Together, they provide content strategy and copywriting services for their clients on four continents. They also build small websites and provide SEO services for them.

In his “spare” time, Doc serves as moderator or administrator on several forums, and writes artricles and guest posts on several sites. He is an active member of the SEO Training Dojo, and his SEO passions are attempting to eliminate misinformation and promoting an optimum user experience.
