Isn't this called inbound blogging? And yes, it has gotten significantly harder to create and build relationships with the people you want to be seen with. They are absolutely flooded with requests to post and even if you and your content are top shelf, they are being tossed on the same pile as everything else. Guest posting requests have become the new reciprocal link request.

Hi Dave, i can understand your situation. There are people who want their links to appear without even bothering to navigate through the blog or even going through the submission guidelines. However, this will not deter serious and genuine bloggers from reaching out to other bloggers or website owners from looking forward to a quality content.

I still live in hope that there still lives a place for good content via this method. I guess you can blame the death of article marketing for this. I have seen many blogs just post any rubbish just because its unique content. Unique content doesn't mean good content. I guess people will need to pump out more inforgraphics lol

A couple of things I've noticed with regards to blogger outreach: #1 - Opportunity. A lot of blogs have noticed the popularity of guest blogging and have started to charge for guest blog posts. Can't blame them as they're getting bombarded by requests and have to spend time on checking out the posts but I have to wonder how Google will eventually score these links? #2 - Saturation. One of my fav guest blogging spots is no longer accepting guest blog posts this year because they have enough posts to last them through the rest of the year. So yea it definitely looks like the SEO industry is on it's way to killing yet another tactic.
