2017 was quite a year! Some of you had a rough year. Some lost loved ones, a few lost their job or major clients or had health problems, while some had a banner year, had a child, got married or found their dream home.
I’ve been in the full-time workforce for nearly 50 years, in the military, in manufacturing plants, offices, hospitals, police stations, often on the road… in the U.S. and around the world. While I was privileged, now and then, to work in groups who “took care of their own”, it was normally a small group – folks that saw and worked with each other every day. I’ve never experienced anything as encouraging and uplifting as what I’ve been part of the last decade and a half.
We’ve all seen how our search community comes together to support one another when a helping hand is needed. Even those who are in competition with each other are often friends, too. When someone needs some help, whether it be with a sticky SEO issue or just getting over a personal rough spot in the road, there’s never a lack of several helping hands extended. To me, that’s what makes our community so special.Â
We hope last year was kind to you. And if it wasn’t, we sincerely hope that 2018Â will more than make up for it.Â
